2. Are you catholic?
We are a parish of the Anglican Catholic Church. We are Anglican because we worship in the Anglican tradition with its roots in the Book of Common Prayer. We are Catholic because we believe and practice the universal or Catholic faith of the church that has been handed down to us from the time of the Apostles.

4. What do I need to do to become a member or your church?
That depends upon your background in the faith.

Those who are not baptized become members by going through a course of instruction in the Christian faith leading to Baptism and Confirmation.

Those who are baptized and practicing Christians become members of our church by going through a new members class in which they learn the basics of our belief and practice. For those who have not yet been confirmed by a Bishop, the new member class leads to Confirmation.

Those who are already confirmed members in good standing of another church may become members by transferring their membership to St. Matthew's.

We welcome those who have fallen away from the faith and want to come back. We recommend that they participate in our new member classes.

6. What do I need to do to get married in your church?
Our church considers marriage to be a sacrament. To be married in our church you must be committed to Christ and his church and you must attend several sessions of pre-marital counseling. We welcome those who are planning to get married and have questions about the faith. Call us during our office hours (10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily) and we will arrange an appointment.

7. Will you open your church for a funeral service for anyone?
In general, we will perform a funeral for anyone because the church has always understood the burial of the dead to be a work of mercy. However, we make our church available to other groups only in special circumstances.

8. Can the church help me pay for food and rent?
We help our members and others we know as we are able. Those we do not know, we refer to organizations who are able to handle such general solicitations. We work with and support F.I.S.H. (Friends in Service to Humanity).
